Picture Perfect, merely a mask for a hollow story instilled from a place of fear

Picture Perfect

A moment, set up to show the world who you are

A moment, set up to make first impressions count

A moment, set up with an aim to be liked, just as you are

A moment, set up to tell a story to be remembered

A moment

Set up…

A detail

A fraction

A perception

A point of view

A perspective

A moment

Picture Perfect

What’s the behind the scenes, what’s the before, the around, the moment of “click”, the aftermath…

What is at play around that moment, what is at play to set up the set up… It contains so much more than we will ever know, than anybody will ever know… if the one setting up the stage for the perfect picture of themselves to be portrayed

Layers that scratched a surface

Reinforcements that have stood the test of time through the storms, beyond imagination, coatings of paint coloring and brightening the settings, the moods of those passing by

So much energy taken

So much energy given

Will the ones passing by ever know the full story?

Will the one living the picture perfect moment ever realize the full potential of the story?

Does a picture perfect story even exists? And if so, can I hear your definition of it please?

Because really how often is the picture perfect merely a mask of a hollow story instilled by fear? How often is picture perfect really a representation of ourselves to comply with how we want the world to see us?

Because really how often is the picture perfect merely a set up to comply to the expectations of others, society, family, friends?

Because really how often is the picture perfect merely an attempt to find that perfect job, that perfect employee, that perfect friend, that perfect romantic partner, that perfect … Idea we have of who we need to be, to be accepted?

But really isn’t picture perfect just a moment of the story, created out of a fear for not having it all, out of a fear for not being enough, out of a fear for not being accepted, out of fear…

How often is picture perfect the result of the story with heart, with essence, the result of fully being, fullstop!

As fully being is messy, is layered, is happy, is angry, is hopeful, is scared, is learning that we already have it all and we already are enough

The perfect picture does not wear a mask, has flaws and imperfections, doubts, tears, smiles, confidence, layers of hardship softened with love, all colors and shapes allowed in the FULL story of the perfect picture
